October was a fun month for us. John finished up his whirlwind tour, visiting the Hampton, VA area and Knoxville, TN. We celebrated Sandie’s 28th birthday watching the Texas Tech/Nebraska game… a memory we’re trying to put behind us. :) However, it looks like Nebraska is marching back a bit (a very little bit) and has taken the lead in the Big Twelve North. We’re die hard Husker fans deep in enemy territory so we’re rooting hard for the Big Red.
However, now living in San Antonio we’re broadening our sports awareness to the NBA. Living here it’s hard not to become a Spurs fan. They look strong this year and we’re excited to follow them, and hopefully make it to a couple of their home games.
Halloween was fun this year. We had our friends, Ethan and Jamie, over to do some pumpkin decorating. They thought we were a little strange for painting our pumpkins versus the traditional carving, but hey, we admit it, we’re a little strange. It took us a while to come up with a good theme to rival our last year’s Dilbert theme. We dug hard into our memory banks of childhood and I think that we came up with a winner… Kermit and Animal! You may notice that, both years, one of the pumpkins is composed of basic shapes (Kermit and Dogbert), that’s because we have to come up with a theme that works into John’s artistic ability… he can’t handle much more than a circle with eyes. :)
Einstein also got into the spirit by dressing up as a cowboy this year, thanks to the Blum family. I guess they wanted to make sure Einstein knows that he’s a Texan!
That’s about all that we have going on here in SA. We miss you all tons and hope to see you soon!
We hope you are all doing great. Please drop us a line when you get a chance: johnandsandie@satx.rr.com.
All our best,
John & Sandie
(& Einstein too!)
