We had a great month in September. Our first official visitors came, Wayne & Corky Blum. We did a whirlwind tour of San Antonio and hit all the major highlights. Of course, no trip to San Antonio is complete without visiting the Riverwalk. We also went to the Championship Round (Sunday) of the Valero Texas Open at La Cantera Golf Resort. After the tournament we decided to check out the beautiful resort on the golf course. As we innocently wandered up the hill into the resort lobby we happened to stroll into the championship party! Nothing like rubbing elbows with the person who just won a major PGA tournament (see picture of John below). All in all, we had a great time with our first visitors!
Also during September, John began taking trips across the US on a team that is surveying several sites for additional locations for the Air Force Manpower Agency (AFMA). They're going to add 4 new 60-person units somewhere across the US. So far he's gone to Colorado Springs, Denver, St. Louis, Dayton, OH, and Oklahoma City. Soon he'll be traveling to Virginia, Knoxville, and Atlanta.
During his trip to St. Louis he got to spend some time with Ryan, Jen, Sophie, and Ava Blum. It was great to see everyone! It's amazing how fast Sophie and Ava are growing up. Sophie is so smart! She continually amazes me with how much she knows and comprehends at 2 ½.
